Everything started with the globalization that has been good for many countries, but that has destroyed the ozone layer. We can also say, because of globalization and the new way though; people feel free to hit some ones like in cases of domestic violence. With globalization there are more infection diseases, and also people consume more drugs every day. Stress is affecting people because we are attacked by globalization and different cultures. Rich people do not care about the hungry of poor ones, they only care about themselves. We can see how people immigrate to other countries, and they make illegal business. EVERYTHING TO GET MONEY, the difference is there are people who want to be richest, and there are some others that want to eat...

Peddlers in Costa Rica

There is a network of peddlers in Costa Rica who avoid not only the payment of taxes; they also realize several illegal activities that may change the workplace for people who actually make business with all the rights. Providing services like this and selling products may have implications for mobile commerce and it also for the final user. Street activities are linked with other criminal networks, such as piracy and bad practices of paying taxes.

Street vendors make illegal activities that affect society because they do not make right sales. As mentioned by the Nation (2010), ¨ ... Behind a peddler innocent activity is also hide "criminal networks" include other crimes such as drug sales, labor exploitation and trafficking. ¨ It is of special care to ensure consumer rights and legal trader who works with all requirements of law. People cannot be sure that peddlers sale drugs and addictive substances only to adults, for that reason they are violating more laws.

Strongly argue that these activities cause child exploitation, and it is no doubt that this activity violated the labor code one of its articles, which states that work in conditions unfit for a child should not be in this case to be exposed to drugs, for example. According to the Nation (2010), children work in the streets to get drugs or food, which implies an erosion of our future society by contributing to an activity like this. The point is that people trying to make life-threatening to people who do not deserve the street work, plus the fact that work on the streets involves the deterioration of health itself, and not have decent working conditions that any normal worker would. Also we can mention that children who work since early year leave the opportunity to study.

We must always analyze the other side of the fact, in this case the legal activities. The traders who make commercial activities with all the support from the law that contributed with the street vendor as reported by La Nación (2010). Actually the peddlers offer a lot of products which are resold, among them are the DVD "pirates" which are certainly an object that is sold in violation of copyright, and although this becomes a threat to all businesses labels. Buyers prefer to buy a pirated CD than to buy an original CD, because of the price. So, people are contributing that street vendors make stronger.

It is unfair that peddlers sale no taxes products because there are traders that pay a lot of money of taxes, only to have a fair business. Although if some film distributor want to sue a street vendor has to give the complete personal information about them, besides it is requires the record labels. According to The Nation (2010): "To make searches and seizures of piracy requires that the record labels and film distributors complaint, name, people selling plagiarized material”. If there is deficiency in the law, that will be a problem for the legal commerce . So, we can note that it is almost impossible to avoid these transactions in the street as peddler.

All trading activity must be controlled by the Ministry of Hacienda to obtain taxes. The traders sellers have freedom to make a trade without the tax-paying, no matter what product is, the vendors themselves as individual traders should bring the tax rate to the country or pay a fee for doing their business but they do not, and therefore it does not comply with Article 448 of the Commercial Code, that mentioned "If demanded by the buyer, the seller must deliver invoices paid in full or in documents that will ensure peaceful enjoyment of the item purchased” so even if there are items that do not exceed two thousand colones on average, as mentioned by La Nation (2010), this peddlers have to provide for each customer a receipt or invoice. We know this is out of reality, and we believe strongly that the right of doing commercial trades is for the people who pay taxes and municipal duties. So those people are "paying for them" in some way or another, for the reason that the vendors do a free trade transactions.

It is really amazing of how peddlers of San Jose have the ability to evade the authorities and to obtain large quantities of merchandise that is not necessarily of high value. The most important aspect is the fact that they can have their own organization as a network of street vendors, according to The Nation (2010), they have different working areas in different parts of San Jose, and also the merchandise is obtained in a few minutes, so we can say without doubt that those people are working as a great chain which will probably work very well with other illegal activities, as has been shown that exist, according to The Nation(2010). The problem is that this country has no way of how to deal with the situation that no doubt will continue to grow every day, because it costs more money that is of us.

In conclusion, the risk to trade is the proliferation of the peddlers on the street, not because they are going to steal a piece of the market, it’s for other reason more important, the expansion of the organized crime in the area which certainly brings bigger problems arising such as: drugs, criminal acts, besides that perturb the habit of contributing to the state and everything is going to be a trade with cash. Therefore we must start at the root of the problem which generates this activity, and perhaps businesses should begin to work legally, so as to cover also the police and fiscal inefficiency that exists in our country. We think if these branches are not well articulated, the state can hardly reduced this trade. The solution is in our people too because if we avoid an activity like this, it won’t exist needs that can become a problem for many.

Effects of drug addiction

Drug addiction is a very common issue around the world, and this problem is something that affects people´s life. The drug abuse is surrounded with a lot of harmful effects, some of them affect the personal health, others are involved with social relations, and also the most important of them the economic part because of keeping the addiction. All of them are the result of that issue that destroys drug addicts’ personal integrity and the relation with their family and people close to them.

People need to face the fact that drug addiction destroys personal relations between persons, so, in consequence of that you lose that virtue. In a drug dependency problem people forgot all their important interactions with people for example: in work, in the house, and even in the religion part. The only social interaction of an addict is the drug that satisfies the vice, so it means that you waste your time with that poison. As a consequence of using drugs people are going to judge them like a solitary, problematic and disorganized person. So the drugs make drug addicts love them, not the people close to them.

Drug addiction affects personal health, especially if the drug addict has many time consuming drugs. Health problems starts when the drug addicts leave the regular meals and they only want to consume the substance that makes them feel happy. Health problems are noted when the drug addicts start felling some small changes in their life like: ulcers, insomnia and fatigue. Usually, then of that the drug addicts noted other big changes in their organism like: hepatitis, cirrhosis and cardiovascular disorders, also the person could note psychological issues like depression and psychosis.

Economic part is an important space in people´s life because it is the image they show. People´s economic success depends of the economy stability that they have done in their first fifteen years, earning money as professionals. Drug addicts have a damage economic part in their life because they do not work, so they do not earn money: for that reason they have to ask for some coins on the street. Money that people give to drug addicts is used to buy addictive substances, so drug addicts do not take care of themselves like buying clothes, shoes nor food; they only want to consume drugs. As people know a person image is something important because it shows that the person has a stable life, like drugs addicts do not have anything to have a good image they show that they have a lack of stability in their life.

In conclusion the drug addiction means that people destroy their life with each little portion that they consumed. The effect of consume drugs are devastating, even if drug addicts control their social part because it is always difficult to obtain money and spend in an addiction. In sum the drug addiction need to be avoiding it because it destroys people’s health, social relations and money.

Globalization of infectious diseases

How do infection diseases affect people?

There are too many infection diseases like: AIDS, WNH, H1N1; those are affecting people around the world. First, AIDS is one of the most dangerous diseases because it has not have cure. According to UNAIDS (2009) “…25 million people have died of HIV…”, that fact is a reason to care ourselves because we only need a little microorganism to get sick with AIDS. Second, West Nile Virus is less dangerous than AIDS because there are statistics which show the risk of contract WNV is lower, but according to CDC the WNV had cause s500 deaths in USA. Although people do not take care enough prevention, they could be chosen to get WNV. Therefore, swine flu won the battle in Costa Rica because until August 12, 2009 it caused 27 deaths around the country. According to the Ministry of Health 480cases of H1N1 were in San Jose, and one of those cases was the President of Costa Rica, Oscar Arias Sanchez. Finally, those illnesses affect a lot of people around the world, but people could take the necessary preventions to diminish the risk to pass in them.

Disadvantages of immigration

Immigration is an usually activity that has a lot of disadvantages. First, immigrants increase the country population because they come from another country to live there with their families; that implies incur costs to the country. Second, there are more poor people because immigrants do not have where to live and also they earn few money according to News Batch page. Also, immigrants are exploited by their employer because foreigner people are cheap labor, so if the employees have an accident they are going to have problems, because the government does not give the same health rights to the immigrants as the native people, as News Batch page wrote. Forth, not all the immigrants come to another country to work, in some cases they have bad intentions such as: to kill people, to rape people or the most common nowadays to drug dealing. According to The Tico Times (2010), “the Costa Rican policy discovered a plane which contained cocaine because of a plane that crashed near the San Jose metropolitan area”. Public Security Vice Minister Mario Zamora said, “We think it’s time to evaluate the possibility of making the entry for citizens of both nationalities (Guatemalan and Mexican) more restrictive”. The recent accident made the government make decisions in relation to let foreigners involved with drugs issues get into the country. The immigration has some disadvantages, for that reason government could implement stronger laws like the restriction of people with a history of crime.

Blind Side: An example of success

The movie is about one orphan kid that always is quiet, and people around him do not know the reason why. During the course of the movie it was easy to see the improvement of “Big Mike” who was a great child with hide feelings. The cause of his quite life is because he is always escaping from the traumas that his childhood did to him, so, he decides to overcome his trauma with the help that adoptive rich family give him. Big Mike overcomes his studies, family, and personality obstacles because he has the interest to be successful in his life, and he receives help from people who learn to love him.

Education is an important part in the life of human beings because people know how to express themselves and they discover their learning problems and their skills also. At the beginning of the movie Big Mike is studying in a school that does not help him because he has learning problems, and his teachers do not know it, and then he does not find somewhere to study. Michael has an appearance which scared people who play football, especially because he is big and he has black skin color. Although he could not know that because he does not study neither he plays football. In the moment that a Michael´s friend helps him to be accepted in a private school everything changes to him because he starts going to school. After Michael Knows a good family which adopted him like part of their family and they give him the opportunity to continue studying and starts playing football.

Mikes life before he gets successful was totally different; he suffered a lot with his mother because she is a drug addict, but then he finds an opportunity to be loved by somebody. His life was very terrible before, he felt that he was alone in this world; his mother teached him to live just like a kid with many secrets behind. As soon as he receives love by a normal family; he obtains what he deserves since the begging of his life, so his life changes completely because this family shows him to love the people with any fear. It doesn’t matter what happens, the love that he receives will be a support for the rest of his life.

Mike´s personality suffers a lot of changes in the middle of his bad situation, but the he gets a new perspective of life. In his original family he was a very shy person, and he showed insecurity in his actions between the government custody. Then his life totally changes because he could develop something that is good for him, the football. In this sport he must be sure of what is going to be his next movement, and that is a real step that he must conclude in his life also. So, then he seems to be a secure person between all the problems that he had.

In the middle of problems people could overcome the obstacles that try to stop the people´s dreams. Michel is an example that studies, family, and personality issues could be overcome with volunteer and some help from people who love him because those people are a good example of life for the person in problems, in this case for Big Mike.

Poverty

Overcoming poverty: the perseverance makes the success

My mother told me that her parents were very poor, but they worked so hard to support their seven children. When my mother was a little girl her parents had five older children and after my mom they had one more child, for that reason they had to earn much money because they had to support all their children; although, they did not have that amount of money. In Estado la Nacion says that in 1990 were 18% of poor people in Costa Rica, and in 2008 were 14,2% of poor people in the same place that means that before times were more poverty than nowadays. That statistics shows us that it could be possible that my mother´s family were one of that numbers of very poor people. My grandfather worked like a rural boy, and he could give the necessary food of his seven children. My grandmother also was a help in the family because she was a coffee picking girl, they worked together and won the confidence of the people who gave them poor but honest work, although they could not gave the complete study of their children they teached them to be honest and to work hard. Nowadays my grandmother has alimony and my grandfather still works like a rural boy because he was not accustomed to being out of work.

Global Warming

Ecological homes

The global warming is affecting us, so people are building new ecological structures. Those buildings are being shown to people in T.V show programs like “Ecological Homes” at Home and Health channel; its main propose is having a green house with a high design like it says in its page “this series features 100% ecological homes, with a high concept design and a host of innovations that will surprise everyone”. Although the change is not cheap, populate are building ecological homes because they want to preserve the planet. According to Enfemenino page those green houses are characterized to have a minimal ecological impact because people who live in those houses save energy; on the other hand, there are a lot of people who do not care the consequences of global warming, they do not take corrective or preventive measures to reduce the pollution, but what could we do to change unaware people´s thought? We have to consider people´s effort to reduce the energy consumption around the world; however, the Costa Rica energy consumption statistics are high, because in the year 2008 there were 99% people who were covered by the electric service like it says in Estado la Nacion. It does not matter if other people do not want to make a change in favor of the planet, we can turn of the lights and build new ecological homes.
